The honest truth is that yes, in some way the tattoo will cause you some discomfort. However more often than not, we find that sensations are reduced following mastectomy surgery, meaning no pain is usually felt. Some areas however can be hypersensitive but please be reassured that Lucy is trained to offer support, to help you feel as comfortable as possible during your appointment. A numbing agent can be used DURING the tattoo process, provided by the practitioner, we ask you do not apply any numbing gels or agents to the area prior to being tattooed as this alters the make up of the skin, adding an extra layer of fluid in between the layers of skin which can have a great impact on pigment retention and healing after your 3D nipple or mastectomy tattoo.
Prior to your appointment, please ensure you have slept well, eaten a decent meal and are feeling comfortable and great during your appointment - we always say its a good idea for you to arrive early before your appointment so you can get settled in, grab a drink and fill in the forms in preparation for your appointment.
We would never copy a tattoo that has been done previously, we are happy to use photos of tattoos as a reference point so please don’t be offended if we say this. We want to give you the most unique, custom tattoo artwork that you are proud of to wear on your skin for the rest of your lives. Lucy is always keen to sit and discuss your mastectomy tattoo ideas during a consultation.
Yes of course, friends and partners are welcome to come along and offer support, we have a large comfy waiting area adjacent to the treatment area and ample seating for friends and family to sit alongside and support. We kindly ask you do not bring any young children under the age of 18 along with you to your appointment.
Yes of course we can help by rescuing your previous tattoo. Generally these are done by micro pigmentation practitioners and always fade which means we can tattoo over the old fading pigment, to create a permanent solution that simply won’t fade away. Everyone deserves two nipples.
Bookings in advance are always recommended. This gives ample time to discuss a design, make sure both the client and artist are happy and enough time for them both to prepare for the appointment.
After your appointment we will go through your aftercare in great detail and will be given appropriate advice on what protective layers and creams to use.
You will also be given a contact number in case of emergencies if you have any queries or any questions that you need answering or reminding of.
